Spot at the World's 2002
High Sign Nugget "Spot" is "the little horse with the big heart"! He is sired by ApHC "Hall of Fame" legend, High Sign. Not only has he inherited his sires outstanding traits, but is passing them on to his own offspring. His offspring have won 9 ApHC World Championships,3 Reserve World Championships, 15 Canadian Supreme Futurity/Derby Championships, 10 Canadian Supreme Futurity/Derby Reserve Championships, 2 ARCHA Futurity Championships & 4 ARCHA Reserve Championships. He has also produced an ApRHA Reining Futurity Champion & 2 Reserve Champions.
In October of 2002, at the "Superslide" in Chilliwack, British Columbia, "Spot", proving he still loves to go down the fence, marked an amazing "151" to seal a victory for his owner/rider,Jim Dobler, in the Limited Open/Non Pro Working Cow Horse class. However, not to be out done, Les Timmons rode the remarkable High Sign Nugget son, High'O'Lena to the Championship in the Open Working Cow Horse, marking a 149.5 dry work & a 152 on the fence!! spot_cow03.jpg (9K)
In the fall of 2002, "Spot" captured his 5th "World Championship" at the World Championship Appaloosa Show in Fort Worth, Texas. His offspring, "High Limit" and "Show Me A Sign" also won 2 "World Championships" and a "Reserve World Championship" respectively. Our SHOW PEN - 2002 page highlights those outstanding achievements along with some of the 2002 achievements of several other offspring.
For many years, "Spot" has been Alberta's most recognizable and most popular Appaloosa. He is well known by almost everyone who follows or competes in the cow horse circuit in Western Canada. The breeding season gets busier and longer each year for "Spot", as a result his show season becomes shorter each year.  Although not officially retired, he will be spending some well deserved time away from the show pen in 2003 & will be spending some enjoyable time out with his mares & 2003 foal crop.
